“A good traveler has no fixed plans, and is not intent on arriving.” Lao Tzu
I took the photo below after I had been eating my lunch at Cafe Opera in Bergen. I saw Otto walking at the other side off the street and while he was adjusting his pants this pigeon came and landed in front off him. I would imagine that the bird just went right for his bucket, he always had much bread there. To my surprise the pigeon just stood and waited for Otto to finish his business. I am so glad I caught this moment. It is one of my favorite photographs that I have taken and it says a lot about what I try to capture in the streets.
I come from a background where everything is planned. In film and TV productions we never left anything to chance. This is why I love to walk the streets and just try to capture what I experience. I hope you like this shot of Otto. He was a well known character on the streets of Bergen. He never asked for anything, just going around doing his thing.
